  • Research you can use in the classroom or in writing papers in your own major.
  • Ways to personally help friends on campus who are pregnant or who have already had abortions.
  • Practical ways of helping women within your chosen field.
  • Background on abortion that will equip you as a leader.
  • Skills training for leadership, including public speaking and media tips.
  • Options for internships in New York, Washington, and beyond.
Below is a sample of topics for trainings:

1.  Learn about testimony from post-abortive women who speak from personal experience on how abortion decisions were made, and how abortion affects women.  Hear how testimony of post-abortive women has impacted  the U.S. Supreme Court.  See the declarations that are being collected as part of the million voices campaign. Learn how Campus Outcry can bring the testimony of post-abortive women to your campus.

2. Mental Health Research. Learn about amazing research showing the harmful mental health effects of abortion. There is a huge body of very mainstream research showing significant mental health problems related to abortion. Learn about major, recent studies related to depression, suicide, post-traumatic stress, and substance abuse after abortion. Learn about which mental health problems Planned Parenthood has conceded.

3. There are Risk Factors which cause women to have greater risk of having problems after abortion. Learn what risk factors are listed in an abortion provider's manual, and which have been reported by Planned Parenthood.

4. Learn about post-abortion recovery programs, and how you can personally help women to heal after abortion. Learn about resources, programs and books related to abortion recovery.

5. Public Health Issues related to Abortion: More than 50 studies show increased risk of pre-term birth after abortion, with some of the evidence pointing to a cause-effect relationship. These very early pre-term babies due to previous abortion cost $1.2 billion dollars a year in the U.S. annually, just for initial newborn care, and are at increased risk for cerebral palsy and other handicaps.

6. Breast cancer after abortion. If this really occurs, what is the research supporting the link. If it doesn't occur, how have women won financial compensations for their lawsuits over lack of informed consent on this issue. And who wrote the article on "Scientists Behaving Badly," that was published in a respected journal... and what scientists did behave badly? Learn the facts behind this controversy. Read the studies for yourself.

7.  Learn how to read a study critically. Studies are not always what they seem--learn to read a study carefully to avoid being misled.

8. RU 486. How many women have died after using this abortion drug and why?  If it's not safe, why is it still being used? What's misoprostol, why is that used along with RU 486, and what are it's risks? Why is this being promoted in third world countries for do it yourself abortions?

9.  Plan B. What is it? Why is it still being used if study after study show it doesn't work to reduce the pregnancies?

10. Public Speaking/Media Tips: If you are in a leadership role, you're going to end up speaking to groups some time. Maybe it's a newspaper interview about a campus event, or you're asked to give a presentation in class. Learn some tips to make a positive impact when you speak.

11. So, you want an internship in Washington, or New York? Learn about opportunities to make an impact for life while networking with others who share your values and gaining some incredible experience at the United Nations or in our capital city with major pro-family organizations.
